In the world of internet marketing, there are so many ways to enter, remain, coast, get discouraged, quit etc. Yet although many will be held to the former verbs, a few will stride unto internet marketing success. Amongst such numbers are the gurus and the not so talked about minor leaguers; successful nonetheless. This article strives to propose five characteristics which lead ultimately to internet marketing success; those which everyone must posses who wish to enter a market as vast as ours and take a piece of the pie however small or large it might be.

The first attribute one must possess is Commitment. You must once and for all make the decision to become an internet marketer or forget about it; plain and simple. This applies to many decisions in life however; yet in the world of internet marketing, this is crucial because those who sit on the fence and are not decisive will be the ones who read success stories of others; always saying to themselves “I can do that!” yet never do. You must begin today to stop being a passive observer and become an active player in the IM game.

Truth is, there are so many other business opportunities out there besides internet marketing to dabble in; yet without commitment to a specific one, success is not possible. So, make the commitment today okay? This is the first major attribute of all successful internet marketers or successful people in general; they made the commitment to start a particular business and saw it to fruition.

The second equally important attribute is Continuing Education. One must be a gleaner for specific information related to this business. It shall do one wonders to read e-books or printed texts, watch videos online, buy mp3s; attend cost-efficient seminars and workshops. As we all know, no one is born a master of any profession; one must put in the hours to learn and apply. Even the gurus still leverage the knowledge of other super-gurus. This is how it is, always has been and always will be. However, Internet Marketers have it easy in this regard because we don’t have to leave our homes most times to tap into such knowledge; we get them right from our computers as oppose to traditional education in classrooms etc. Nonetheless, there is one caveat to this apparent advantage which is emphasized in our third point. In the world of Internet Marketing, there is a tendency for many of us starting out to sign up for every appealing program out there. In addition, we read too many materials emailed to us; leaving us overloaded with information. And honestly this is certainly counter-intuitive.

Hence, thirdly, Chose A Program And Follow It To Mastery And Profits! Open up your email every morning once you begin this journey and you will be flustered by marketers courting your time and money. Many offer great products but quite frankly no one has the time to focus on so many options and strategies; so choose a program after you have done a thorough research and learn it fully. I started off my internet marketing career after investigating a plethora of programs and chose one which was extremely transparent and suitable for beginners to earn multiple streams of income online. I am so glad I did for I have not looked back since. Please allow me to state that Internet Marketing is no cake walk and might not be cut up for everyone but if one is eager to succeed; a seeker of information; has a thirst for knowledge and love to learn new things; this could be a fun career. It would be better than a job in the long run for sure! As one writer puts it “a J.O.B means Just over broke; a CAREER on the other hand is a Care(er); something that takes care of you”. So chose a thoroughly researched program; become masterful and profitable at it; then move up to another.

The fourth point is; you must TAKE ACTION! One would achieve nothing even if they read a hundred e-books, watched a thousand educational videos; attended a million workshops or seminars and never take action. The major culprit in this regard seems to be analysis paralysis. Some of us always feel there is one missing ingredient needed to make us 100% sure of getting started; so, we chase the next push-button software, book or guru to no avail. In this wonderful world of ours nothing is for certain. Another writer spins it this way “one who watches the weather will never sow”. In other words, we do not have the proverbial red or green pill to project how other people will respond our business. Whether they would like what we say, or buy what we sell. Don’t wait for that report! It might never come. Pull the trigger at some point; perhaps tonight; after reading this and let the chips fall where they may. As long as you are diligently taking follow up steps on a daily basis to run your business, you shall first of all begin to feel the satisfaction of learning something new which you never thought possible; and with TIME being the equalizing factor in all our endeavors, the profits will start to trickle in and finally you might catch a glimpse of the possibility of one day being your own boss and a successful business owner! This thought gets me fired up and working everyday even for 30 minutes to an hour on my business.

Truth is, as a fellow entrepreneur I know how you feel; you ain’t a tech guy or gal and I agree. Yet in this industry, you don’t have to be. I come from an investment background you know; and what did I know about coding websites and such. But to put you at ease, there are fully functioning websites being built daily which requires zilch technical know-how. And this gotta to be scary for the IT guys; they don’t have the industry on lock anymore; sorry dotcomers and Silicon Valley experts! People from all works of life are getting involved in this internet marketing game; plugging in and making profits! ACT NOW!

Last but not least is good old Persistence. I read a quote by Calvin Coolidge some years ago which is fitting here “Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan “press on” has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race”. In short, get into the mindset of someone like Edison who failed or so it seems 100,000 times before gifting us the incandescent light-bulb. Wow! Imagine that! 100,000 disappointments and he still persevered?

Internet marketing pales in comparison; yet it’s that same hope of transforming one’s future that keeps most of us here. And who can discount the absolute thrill which comes when one is able to pass down the knowledge gained from years of internet marketing experience to someone else starting out who ultimately becomes successful and passes his or her knowledge unto another? The power of this pay it forward philosophy can become so staggering that although you might think your role is miniscule; yet in the grand scheme of things, it is in expanse. You have changed another’s future just because you cared enough to help them by being an internet apostle spreading the news that anyone in earnest can make it online if they would only follow the above five surefire ways to internet marketing success!
